Is YellowPages.com going to collect more data for the Local Yahoo distribution? YP uses a lot of 'business card' displays, and not the full business data(like hours of operation, etc) that Yahoo will display.

great question. and certainly rich strucutred data collection hasn't historically been the core competency of the iyps or other similar aggregators of smes. the ypc - ylocal inventory is going to be sponsorship based. in other words this is not algo generated business profiles, but preferred placement probably as a business card that is served in traditional ppc positions above algo based result sets. this does not mean however that they don't need a solution for richer data collection and better organic distribution of that structured and rich advertiser data.

Is there any word on where the YPC ads will be injected? Are they going to mix with Yahoo PPC ads at the top of the page? Or, perhaps they will be mixed in with the "natural" results? Either way, will be interested to see what impact this has on prominence of ads directly placed with Y! for the space.

Waste of money and the Yell is built for advertiser's who have a spare 8k to blow. Not my cup of tea and to think they have a cheek to charge more than a Yahoo listing..... Yet Yahoo goes into cahoots with them - god it makes me sick, these leaches would sell their mothers to make a profit. eeek yuck, (leaves a nasty taste in my mouth)
