| Compacting outlook.pst file

msg:1569314 | 3:51 pm on Jun 23, 2006 (gmt 0) | I'm running Microsoft Outlook 2000 (Internet Mail Only version). My outlook.pst file is getting very close to the 2Gb limit. I went in and deleted a couple hundred megs of messages with attachments out of the Deleted folder, but the file size is still the same. Some MS articles told me to right click on one of the folders, choose properties, and under Advanced there would be an option to manually compact the file. But when I choose properties, there is no Advanced button or tab. Anyone know how I can compact my file? Apparently just deleting things out of my Deleted folder isn't enough.

| That .pst file is "everything" in your Outlook. Emptying your deleted messages has very little impact on it. That .pst is a compilation of all your email messages that you have saved. Have you tried archiving?
