Changing File Icons
Individual Files

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but it seems like my best bet.

I want to change the icon assosiated with files, the same way you are able to change the icon of a folder or shortcut. I am not trying to change the icon assosiated with a type of file, but an individual file.

For example, I have music from artist A and artist B, they are the same filetype (.wmp) but I want to set a different icon for artist A and artist B.

Is there a way to do that? Preferably something I can change on my computer, but external software works too.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld dimo414.

To the best of my knowledge there is no way that you can associate an entire file-type that way. You can certainly change the icon associated with a file-type like .wmp by changing the default controlling software, but it would be the same for all files of that type system-wide.
