Microsoft Beta Site
interested in testing out upcoming products?

 8:38 am on Sep 15, 2005 (gmt 0)

Microsoft has a beta site [beta.microsoft.com] where you can use your Passport account to sign up to beta test programs. For example, if you wanted to try out the upcoming OneCare [webmasterworld.com] service, this would be the place to sign up.

I can't get in. I get:

Welcome to Microsoft Beta!

If you have received an email welcoming you to a program and you have reached this screen, please wait 24 hours and try again.

If you have been issued a Guest ID by Microsoft, please enter the ID below.

Bummer. I guess you need to be invited to try the beta stuff out.

It worked for me before. They must have begun restricting the program.

I signed up to the beta program about a year ago. I signed in as a guest then selected areas I was interested in. It was about 6 months later that I received an email invitation to download and evaluate some software.
