I bought a new computer last week which has XP Pro. I'd like to run PHP on it to test out scripts before uploading them to another server. How do I go about doing this exactly? I've seen the PHP website which has a load of source code downloads on it, but to be honest I wouldn't have a clue what to do with them.

It depends on what server you're running locally. The instructions for installing PHP on Windows [php.net] are on the PHP site.

There are also a couple of "how-to" [webmasterworld.com] threads in our PHP Forum Library [webmasterworld.com].
