Remote access through a router
pcanywhere 11.0 going through Belkin router

 11:32 pm on Sep 1, 2004 (gmt 0)

I'm having no luck with the port forwarding. I'm using 5631 for the TCP (data) port number and 5632 for the UDP (status) port number. I can connect through the local network IP address, but not to the static IP from the outside world.

Does anyone here have any experience with Belkin router settings that could offer up some suggestions?

I will add that I'm using a machine running XP Pro as the host and the device is a Belkin 4-port cable/dsl gateway router (no visible model no. on any of the packaging or manual). XP's firewall is turned off and there are no additional software firewalls. The only place I'm actually making changes for ports through the local web interface is on the tab "Firewall", item "Virtual Servers".

I will be calling Belkin sometime tomorrow, but was hoping that someone here has been through the port settings on this particular brand.
