What do you use most? Photoshop or a Putty? I have a 12 inch Vaio that I can barely use for Photoshop, but for surfing the net, coding, Word, Excel, Putty it is more than fine. But the benefit really kicks in when I am carring it around and using it in cramped places like planes or coffee shops. I save the Photoshoping tasks and gaming for my 21 inch desktop.

I think 12" is quite easy for travel/work. Just check the battery life.

ive got a 15 inch toshiba satellite pro and everytime i travel i wish i had one of those tiny 12 inchers for serious graphics work even a 15 incher is too small but doing stuff like gradients in PS doesnt require a big screen. i believe you could do that on a 12inch my gfriend has a 17 inch acer and the word portable is a serious overstatement

I have a 15" display on a heavy base. It's a pain to carry around. The company owner wanted a lighter laptop because he travels a lot. I ordered a great, inexpensive one from Compaq with a wide screen display. The screen isn't as tall so it saves weight and space when using it. It's also a good 4 pounds lighter. Nice comptuer.
