How do I disable Flash in Internet Explorer permanently?

 7:50 am on Mar 22, 2005 (gmt 0)

I noticed that after you uninstall Flash, every time you visit a web site with Flash, it will prompt you for Flash. I don't want that prompt to appear anymore. I'd like to be able to disable Flash without having to turn off ActiveX nor by having to add yet another system tray application.

The web sites my roommate visits that utilize Flash is mostly advertisement. The computer is a PIII 550 with only 64MB of RAM. The Flash really slows the loading of pages. And perhaps it is not the Flash itself, but the advertisement web server that is slow. In any event, the Flash component is slowing the usability of the computer even further.

That's why.

You are da man! thank you! The registry hack worked beautifully. You have to close and re-open your web browser after the registry is edited in order to see change in action. Beautiful!
