Is there a free, open-source alternative to Flash in the same way that OpenOffice.org is a free, open-source alternative to MS Office and Mozilla Firefox is a free, open-source alternative to IE? I understand that the source code for Flash is open-source (is that right?)... but... uh... it's not free, is it? Or is it?

msg:1564329 | 3:59 pm on Jan 19, 2005 (gmt 0) | I don't know of any really free tools. There are some online that you can create some animations, but they don't create anything really of merit. Now besides macromedia flash there is also swish. It is cheaper, but looks like it is going up in price.
