rogerd, you are doing an outstanding job of directed posting. I think you're getting this forum off the ground and headed in a VERY positive forward motion.
Your lead-in posts are thoughtful as well as thought-provoking, cogently phrased, and are things that anyone with fora or contemplating same NEED TO CONSIDER.
You go. And may you continue to do so!

Amen. A great example of "Forum Community Building." Hats off, Roger. :)

Thanks for the kind words, all. I have to admit, though, that this is a cushy job... Talking about forums & community building in what is arguably one of the best and most-trafficked forums on the web ensures a built-in audience of well-qualified community-builders.
Most importantly, I should point out that it's the members who make a great community. One person talking to himself doesn't get very far. So thank YOU for your contributions to the discussions so far!
Lastly, I'd point out that the people who really deserve a tip of the hat are the Google mods and the admins who back us all up. The Google forum generates a ton of threads and posts, and the mods who keep that (and other busy forums) in line really do the heavy lifting around here.
I do think we're off to a great start here, and can't wait to see what interesting topics are lying in wait in the coming weeks!

Roger, I'd like to chime in and say, "Thanks!"
For those of us who never see the edited posts or even the deleted posts on any forum, the Mods here are the best.
