Any recommendations for .Net forum software?

Willing to consider free, paid, and code that needs modifications.

I googled "asp.net forum software" and got some decent-looking hits, like Instant Forum.net and ITCN Asp.Net Forum, and dotNetBB. I haven't worked with any of those packages, but I presume it's important the package work with the .net platform.

Yeah, I did the same, but I don't have any experience with the products.

Looking for recommendations based on experience if possible.

Agerhart, these packages aren't among the market leaders. If you don't get lucky here, your best bet may be to track down references from the sites themselves. (They won't list the disasters, though.)

Something else you might try is to look for software footprints, like "powered by..." or other distinctive text. Some searching might turn up a batch of sample boards to look at and/or contact.

I've been looking as ASPPlayground myself. It's used to power the MS Frontpage community at Outfront, which is an active community that a number of WW members (and some mods) also participate in. Thomas Brunt, the Big Kahuna at Outfront, is most helpful and would likely answer your questions.

Another person to contact as well Is Spooky. The asp playground people are members over at outfront. Spooky, I believe is the one who updates and maintains the workings of the forums.

It seems that when problems arise, Spooky is the one who works on them and fixes them.
