Questions on Promoting new BBS script

 8:14 am on Aug 12, 2004 (gmt 0)

I have just released a BBS script that I have been writing for the last year.

It is already included in HotScritps.com and ScriptSearch.com

I was wondering if there are other places where I can promote [i.e. spread the word] about my script.

BTW, the script is released under free licence for personal and non-profit use.

I am not including the link as I do not want this question to appear as Spam.

Any info would be appreciated.

PS. @ Admin: If this question is posted to the wrong board, please feel free to move it. Thank you.

Well I think one of the best ways of promoting the software is to have the software used and people see the links. It spreads quickly. If its open source you can go that route too.

Put on download sites other than script hosting sites. If its free you qualify for all the freebie links.

Some of the tips for promoting new forums could probably be used to promote your forum software. For example, in forums that allow sigs, you could make helpful posts that include your URL and a tagline.

One way to use viral marketing is to be sure that all e-mails your forum sends (notifications, passwords, "mail this page", etc.) include the forum software name and URL used to generate the mail.

If you can find people who review software and blog their comments, try to get them to take a look. Good luck!

Thank you EliteWeb and rogerd.

Let's hope for the best.
