I don't mean to sound stupid, but I have seen the term pagerank used many times and I'm not sure if I know what it means. Can anyone briefly explain this or give me a link to a thread that does?

A lot ofmy sites that has high rankings in Google have dropped dramaticall y by three or four pages. One was in top 10 positions for seven good keyword phrases and was single page it has now competely disappeared from the google since saturday ! I have no idea why any ideas ?

Also on another major site of mine Googlebot for the last two weeks has logged 8-15 visits a day but onlyt viewed the robots.txt which validates fine and I have added last modified headers to all pages ... but still nothing. I hasnt been back for three days ... Help would be appreciated

logged 8-15 visits a day but onlyt viewed the robots.txt Googlebot was doing the same thing to me a bit ago... it came back today and started requesting actual pages. No worries... they didn't drop my site or anything, so you're probably fine.

Is this not out of the ordinary?
Google visiteda few of my sites yesterday, but he usually comes between 20th-30th of the month.
Maybe there will be a quick re-index this month??
