Very good, Brett, I wonder if it's prophetic.

[webmasterworld.com...]
A quick early check of log files for the time I can verify Yahoo was running Google results last night shows a three to one increase over standard Google in referrals.

Somehow I don't think we'll see a 75% decrease if they switch. The affect on referals from a new partner could be more noticeable though.

I worry about the 'eggs in one basket' thing as much as anyone, maybe more so as Google is very important to my work. On the other hand, part of me wants to see the best general purpose engine still powering what was the best portal.

Whatever happens will be good either for someone's PFI sales, or for Yahoo's search quality.

Brett... No fair. That's July 1st coming up, not April. ;)

Ha, Brett. I was reading that thing, and what occurred to me first was that Yahoo had to be tossing its directory out the window, or relegating it to some smaller role, with Google providing primary results. Mischief is afoot at WW. ;)
