Known Google "poison words" Can we compile a list specific to Google... JuDDer msg:1609765 2:11 am on Feb 26, 2002 (gmt 0) Hi All,
First of all, apologies if this has already been covered.
I'm looking to try and compile a list of known 'poison words' and any known effects they have with Google. My sites have been going down more and more over the last few updates and this month is no exeption .
After looking at everything else on my affected sites, all I can think to do is pick brains about known poison words and the effects that they have in case there's some words in any of my sites that are to blame for my seemingly harsh ranking penalties.
Please post your lists if you have any
Thanks everyone. :)
PS, I read the

Here are a couple of older threads that covered poison words.

As opposed to "Google rulez!!", which is hard-wired to add 0.001 to any sites PageRank ;) nutsandbolts msg:1609769 11:40 am on Feb 27, 2002 (gmt 0)
/me starts to add
Google rulez
to all of my sites ;)

Yo, can we cross-link the daylights out of sites so long as we have
Google rulez
on each index page?

In Google, poison words don't necessarily affect the page they're on.
An example from the Open Directory:
this page [ dmoz.org] doesn't get the expected PageRank from this page [ dmoz.org].
The same goes for many other pages using the word "guestbook" heavily; they just don't show in backlinks any more. "forum" and "links" seem OK, though. Anyone found any others?
