Hi JuDDer, Here are a couple of older threads that covered poison words. [webmasterworld.com...] [webmasterworld.com...] [webmasterworld.com...]

As opposed to "Google rulez!!", which is hard-wired to add 0.001 to any sites PageRank ;)

Yo, can we cross-link the daylights out of sites so long as we have
Google rulez
on each index page? ;-)

In Google, poison words don't necessarily affect the page they're on. An example from the Open Directory: this page [dmoz.org] doesn't get the expected PageRank from this page [dmoz.org]. The same goes for many other pages using the word "guestbook" heavily; they just don't show in backlinks any more. "forum" and "links" seem OK, though. Anyone found any others? Calum
