Looks like the google dance is starting lazerzubb.

I'm seeing a new site that I've added, updated directory descriptions and some new pages.

Good luck all :)

Horrible. Thats all I have to say. It seems every site of mine that didn't have that "penality" before now has it, and most of these sites haven't been touched since the last update, which means there's no reason there should be any penality now if there wasn't one last update. But, then again, there is no reason any of my sites should have any type of penality of any kind, but that's a whole other post.

Oh, almost forgot, by "penalty" I mean that wonderful "your site is still listed, still has 100's of links pointing to it from places like the ODP and Yahoo, yet your site has a 0 pagerank (had a 6 pagerank last update) and ranks dead last for every possible search relating to anything on your site."

www2 updated for us, all major changes are reflated, no referral so far from new index pages so i can't say how they will be ranked. for some of the pages it says "fresh!" and i am not sure what it means beside being fresh. amazingly, pages that are in dmoz are crawled daily. dmoz links to some of older versions of our content and despite our requests will not update them so we have duplicate content in google at this moment, though not penalized for this i trust. i've changed the whole architecture to static to see how that will affect the ranking.

It looks like Amazon and Oingo are jamming serps, total cloaking, redirects and irrelevance.

I know we are not supposed to use this forum as a tattletale forum, but the jamming is wholesale and ridiculous.

Google is finally giving me some love after 8 straight updates of what I call the "pmac" penalty. I can only hope it sticks.

Dont you guys and girls ever take time off! ;)

Big Penalisation on some of my major clients sites and competitors have overtaken us on some key terms.

Clients get back on the 7th so Ill have some explaining to do if these results remain!

Brand new site, dmoz, Y! and more directory listings, totally clean, no crosslinking whatsoever: POOF! Completely vanished.
Perhaps we should drop this penalty thing and think more along the lines of overload on Google's side.
It's fine to grow your index seemingly with a snap of a finger, it's fine to constantly add new features, fine to speed up crawling - as long as you're still able to get the basics right.
A site that is in Dmoz and Y! and other catalogues of some standing should be findable in Google's index.

heini, don't worry that is not that uncommon I've had it happen to a couple of my sites. It's in google right off the hop and the at the first full update it's gone. Be patient and it will show up again, next update.

Good call, watt. Always dangerous to jump to conclusions from throwing together different things.
You are right about new sites. Lets see what others have to report about the update.

Two sites just got into the DB.....we had been waiting about a month to two months.

And the site that had previously been booted by Google is now back in, and it has the Fresh tag!
