Does anyone know how to send an invitation to someone. Who can do these things, and are your everyday user able to do so?

Simple. First, you must have a Gmail account. You then click on the "Invite a friend to join Gmail!" link located under the Search buttons at the top of every Gmail page. Unfortunatly, the link isn't always there, and there is no specific pattern as to when they show up.

Once Gmail goes public (you do remember that it currently is in Beta?) things may be different, but for now, that's how it's done...

I believe (but may be wrong) that my link has been there on every visit since I used my invitations, but it did not work. I just tried it again and now it works and I have 3 more invitations. Don't know what I have done to qualify for them.
