Who can control themselves and only check stats once a day?

I can, now I am working on a new site I haven't yet monetized.

My main/old site is still making great money, but since I don't make any changes to the site I don't feel the need to check the stats more than once a week.

But, I have to admit my main/old site is a VERY stable earner. It has kept a steady income through every update for the last 2 years.

IMO you should be checking the stats more than once a day if the site's making a decent amount of money.

One of the best indicators of issues that may crop up during the course of a day.

And if that becomes too time consuming for you then you probably need someone to report this data for you.

Enough to concern you if it stops halfway through the day.
