Recently seen a few ads for a sales position for a search engine marketing company and are thinking of applying. Only problem is the job is 100% commission. Can anyone who works or owns a SEO company give me a quick heads up on the pros and cons of taking such a position. I thought most SEO companys got their business by way of referrals or does direct approaches by sales people actually work. Any advice comments would be appreciated.

Good question Sleepy.
I am the Internet Marketing Manager for a firm that explored hiring a salesman a while ago. We couldn't come up with a way to keep the position fruitful enough to keep a salesman happy and keep costs low. We are a million dollar a year company (not THAT big) and it just didn't make sense for us. The main problem is, most of our SEO stuff comes from clients that we already have and their referrals.
