Anything Sun is pretty reliable. Red hat is ok, but only as good as the hardware underneath.

Oh Host, you wanted hosts. Reliable? Lol. That is a rarity. To tell the truth, we aren't fond of these threads since they bring out the host spammers in droves.

That said, current fixation is [tetraweb.com...] (sun servers, pricey, but has full monty of perks and support).

Pair.com is excellent. After dealing with so many dishonest hosts, it is nice to find one that delivers. Dont take my word for it. Go check them out.

Best host I have used (so far) and have been using them for two years. Pro3.net
Good tech support.

I have been using for quite sometime now Hostway.com - [hostway.com...]

Their service is very professional and reliable. Their packages are packed with a lot of extras AND if you need technical support, they respond to you within 30 minutes (from my personal experience)

I wrote a whole review on them on Epinions - [epinions.com...]

I try to express my gratitude for their wonderful service by always recommending them. Never have had downtime or any problems with them. Worth every penny.

I've been on FutureQuest [futurequest.net...] for well over a year now and always had good experiences with them.

The best thing (other than all the latest webmaster toys & tools) is that they also have message forums where all their customers can interact. It's a great way to see what's really happening, keep up to date with server upgrades and anything else. I've never found another host that has done that!

Been with Pair for nearly 2 years. There are plenty of accounts to choose from so you should be able to find one to suit. The Developer account offers lots of features and is reasonably priced.

One thing that does let them down is the support, email only and sometimes they have a tendancy to ignore you (however I often do the same to my clients :-)). They can also be slow reacting to changes. I've been waiting nearly 6 months for an operating system upgrade. If it hadn't been for this latest problem, I would have no hesitation in recomending them. That being said I am sure that there are much worse hosts out there.

Currently being stung by bandwidth over usage charges, so am looking to move. Thanks for the nod on tetraweb Brett, 25Gb for $25 will do the job nicely.

We used Pair at the company I work for and their technical support is horrible. When you needed something done, it would take more than a week which is very poor support for a company who needs these things done.

Luckily, they added their control panel to handle your email accounts, etc, but previously, you had to email them to get mailboxes added or anything else for that matter and it would take 5+ days to get it done.

I would never recommend Pair to anyone who has a business.

I had a lot of success with Hurricane Electric. They are not expensive..starting at 9.95/mo. and do not care if you are reselling their services. They have a very easy admin. for handing email accounts, autoresponders, etc. Their url is www.he.net ... oh ... their servers are Linux.

Hope this helps! :)
