My h1 tag is not visable.

Hi

I entered my h1 tag in my source code for my index page.

It looks like

<div class="textsize"> </div>
<div id="header">
<h1>widget,widget,widget,widget,widget,widget,</h1>
<ul class="menu">

However, I cannot see the text anywhere on my page - i think it might be in font red but my picture banner is red so will that cause problems? will i get banned

You have closed your first <div> with nothing in it, then opened a new one without closing it.

Try this:

<div class="textsize">
<div id="header">
<h1>widget,widget,widget,widget,widget,widget,</h1>
<ul class="menu">
</div></div>

You are correct I will not risk a ban from google for something like that!

How do people usualy place h1 tags? At the moment I have no idea where to place it without messing up the look, any ideas?

You can use CSS to change the color, margins, padding, etc., of your <h1> tag.

1. There's no way we can tell if your H1 tags are visible or not. You haven't given us the content of your style sheet.

2. What is it you are trying to accomplish? An H1 tag should be used for - surprise, surprise - a heading. Where should you place it? At the top of some section of your page. The question as to where you should place it seems a bit bizarre, which is why I have to ponder just what it is you are trying to do?
