| Any versioning system will require a little bit of time to adapt to. I would pick one based on price/feature set and learn it. Also:- [dmoz.org...] (hint: dmoz is King for these types of searches) TJ

If you like CVS, then definitely try subversion as posted above. Subversion is enhanced version of CVS. sdani

I've found CVS with Tortoise adequate. But my true love is SourceSafe (now bought out by Microsoft) - but it isn't free

Just went through finding version control software myself. I ended up picking MS SourceSafe. It is now intergrated into their Visual Studio, but the last stand alone version 6d can be had for $50 on eBay.
