Tell me what you want included!

Ok do you see that little text link that says "forum charter" when you first enter the AV thread? Well I'm going to be turning that into a FAQ for AV SEO. I would love some input to what you guys would like included, so drop a post with what you think is need-to -know info when optimizing for AV.

Polluting of the theme :
#1 AV establisbles the theme of a site , site theme and inbound links
#2 Theme established.Inbound non theme links do they boost the site popularity or degrade the site? So far my finding indicate non theme links boost the site after the theme is established.

This is pretty hard to test with all the factors that AV includes in it's algorithm. But I believe they're currently using a method that's called "topic distillation". Basically this means that before they determine link popularity they compare the themes of linking sites and then filter out any links from non-relevant sites.

for more detailed info see section 3.2 [www9.org...]

If they are using non relevant links in their link popularity algo (which I'm not seeing at this time), they are almost certainly using some form of "page rank". With page rank your link popularity score is determined by adding the link popularity scores of sites linking to you. This makes links from highly connected sites much more valuable.

Just realized I never directly answered your question
"non theme links do they boost the site popularity or degrade the site"

non relevant links neither boost or degrade, they're just filtered out.
