| Raging Search VS Altavista

Hi, Does Altavista and Raging Search both look at the same database for their results? Do they use different algorithms to determine page rankings? I have a site that ranks #1 on Altavista, but it doesn't even appear on page 1 on Raging Search. Regards, Han.

Han, When they first announced, AV said that the algorithm was the same. But I just checked my site and you are right. I rank #2 in Raging and #1 in AV (woohoo!) and Raging lists 341,505 pages found while AV finds only 32,366 ???

The majority looks virtually identicle to me.
