Pages gone again!

 2:15 pm on May 17, 2000 (gmt 0)

Have been nuked again. Three doorways dropped. Single page .com domains which all featured in the top 10. Feels like a competitor reported that they were doorways OR a human inside had a peak and dropped them. Cannot believe that their automated spam filter nailed them. Unless they are setting number of page parameters. Site has to have a certain number of pages to stick!

Also, have a feeling that sites which feature prominently in the ODP are being given a boost.

All for now!

In what way were these doorways similar to each other?

"In what way were these doorways similar to each other?"

1) All one page domains.
2) Same algo.
3) all three had action text - i.e click here to enter the world of ""

My feeling is that AV is penalising sites which consist of less then a number of pages. Possibly sends a internal links counting spider to pages which have been recently indexed on a random basis. If the number of internal links are less then a certain number - site gets dropped.

Pete, I think you might be right. All I can suggest it to make each page differ from each other enough so that a simple comparison will not throw it out. Different primarily in the text and meta content. I don't think it's quite so important to worry about the picture placement, but you might like to add insurance by renaming some of the pictures.

Don't forget the title tags: they're still of paramount importance with AV, so keep them different from each other.

What are you guys seeing for Caps in titles? I've been noticing an awful lot of top searches turning up with the keywords in ALL CAPS lately.
