Hi glengara, If I remember right, MSN uses Overture first then Looksmarts directory and then Ink and then MSN's organic links. The Looksmart directory may have a number of websites listed in its directory under the keyword or phrase your searching with. This may be why your being listed so low. MSN is going to show those websites before Ink's listings or MSN's own organic links. I think Looksmart's directory is going to be out sometime this month.

Just to clarify, I'm talking about the "Web Page" results from Inktomi.

>Just to clarify, I'm talking about the "Web Page" results from Inktomi. Definitely MSN puts some sort of spin on them. For example, one site of mine is #1 on a key SERP on Pure Search. However, the #2 site and mine switch places on MSN.

I think MSN and Hotbot are applying the same geo-filter to Inktomi pure results. I have two sites that rank poorly on search.msn.com and hotbot.com but right at the top of pure search, uk.search.msn.com and hotbot.co.uk. They are American sites with no specifically UK content, hosted in the USA. Inktomi can't seem to get anything right these days. So MSN and Hotbot force you to use Inktomi's (rather poor) geo-filter. At least the Inktomi results I'm seeing on Yahoo match the pure search.

Newbie to the Ink world. Where do you search on Ink? There home page does not have search so I cannot find my results for Ink. I do know to look at MSN and other but as mentioned above they vary in the results.
