Personally I would go with Position Tech. They're the main player.

Right now I'm with Lycos InSite and I really had to dig around just to find a support address. My next site I'll most likely try Position Tech.

I am thinking about using Lycos Insite because you get a discount if you go for both Fast and Inktomi. Are all submission services not the same? Don't they all just insert you URL's into the same database?

Yes it's the same database, the question is I think does anyone have any merit over the other. I use Ineedhits and they are pretty good. I guess the Lycos is another option but since you can submit to Fast for free I don't see the benefit. I also though Lycos was harder to navigate etc.

Umm... Fast and Ink are separate companies with unique privately owned databases. Fast (more properly called AllTheWeb) and Ink both offer free submissions, Ink thru a few of the portals that use Ink data. The advantage to paid submissions is prompt and frequent spidering. My opinions: This service is valuable for Ink since they are historically "sluggish" about spidering. Since AllTheWeb normally respiders their entire database within a few weeks, paid inclusion is of little value. PositionTech was the first to offer this service and their service to me over 4+ years has been good enough that I haven't felt the need to explore other options.

DaveAtIFG, I should have said, IneedHits and PositionTech submit to the same database, i.e they do the same thing.

I'll add my voice to the PositionTech camp. I've used them for about 2 years now and I'm very happy with their services.

I use MarketLeap. I've only used them for 4 months, but I like the way they set up my stats pages. Also if I submit a clients website, I can keep his stats in a different folder on MarketLeap's website. This is great so I can show each customer what their stats are doing and not anyone else's.
