I have a site indexed in inktomi and it's showing an old
( meta ) description. I have made changes to the pages, and it picks up the changes but keeps the old description?

I checked using pure search at positiontech and MSN, and the descriptions are the same, old.

any way to get the meta description to update?

Is it a dmoz description? Do you pay for inclusion?

Is the description and old LookSmart description?
For my site I have an old one from three years ago that will not go away.

moehits,

Is it a paid inclusion listing or non-paid?

Ink has always used my META description tag. I use PositionTech.

The reason I asked is because I've had problems with my meta descriptions showing up in my non-paid listings. It would just show body text rather than my meta title for some reason.

What made it especially weird was that it only happened to some of my pages.
