AltaVista dropped my site
Did I do something wrong or ...........

Altavista dropped my site from its index and I was wondering if they do that periodically to encourage you to resubmit thru their paid inclusion?

I also use WPG to check my position there monthly, but I only run it once a month.

Hi spinweb.

I find it hard to believe that Altavista are pursuing WPG users to the extent of dropping sites, if they are pursuing them at all.

The most likely reason your site doesn't appear is that you don't have enough people linking to you. However, if you do have lots of links, then the problem might be more serious.
