Nothing cheeses off an Australian more than to find that someone in the US has decided that we're better off being served by their UK office or domain.

This was reported in 2001 in this forum [webmasterworld.com] but until recently, I had no trouble seeing av.com. Today I am getting the uk.av.com site.

Is this something they have resumed or is it something that happens at random?

(I have found the solution at www.altavista.com/web/res in case someone else needs to set their home country.)

It was happening recently to me in the last couple of weeks only www.altavista.com was redirecting to the Australian version.

I guess they are giving the UK equal time. :)

Hmm av.com and altavista.com both redirect to the AU version for me - maybe it was a short lived thing?

I'd hit the back button real fast if I saw a UK site served to me :).
