Just wondering, based on a solictation call I received yesterday, if anyone is familiar with the search engine www.commonname.com. Being that I never have really heard anyone talk about it, it never crossed my PC. The call yesterday claimed that they purchased the real name technology that Microsoft was developing (note they are not the only call that has claimed this and they asked if I had heard of Bill Gates!). It sounded somewhat scammy because they basically tried a scare tactic in the sale (you know the old "I might have to call your competitor" routine). Claims by commonname.com:
1) 24,000,000 subscribers.
2) will be the next Google in a couple of years, since they already had 1/3 the amount of subscribers.
3) unable to answer any direct technical questions such as how many times a certain keyword was searched within their engine (I believe a simple software program could answer that!)
4) wanted to know if a went forward, would I just be using a credit card?!?(kind of wierd was the manner she asked, "so if you decide by Friday, you will just put it on your credit card, right?"
5) $299 1st, $199 every year after to purchase the number one position. Anyway, just making sure this isn't worth investing in and would love some input/feedback...

Any sales person who says that need to be hung up on and have their head examined.

This is against the TOS, it looks like a commercial system. though in saying that it resolves badly in IE, but great in Opera - already won a praise.
