Yesterday, one of my primary keywords that we are parked at #6 had 845,000 pages, today on the first page it is showing 985 pages (still at #6) - but, if you click on page two, it is shows 24,987 pages, and on page three, it is showing 45,000+ pages and it sticks at that from there on up. There is an update in the works...

I am seeing the same thing. I just searched on a phrase where I had a #4 listing earlier today... Checked again just now and I'm gone. Normally there are around 3,000 competing pages, when I checked a few minutes ago there were 28... Now it's back up to normal. They're definitely updating right now.

Could they be tracking clickthroughs? No more direct links to sites in the listings.

My main search term used to have 19 pages of results, and that has now been cut down to just 9 pages of results. I guess it makes sense because no one really looks even past the first page. I wonder if some of my pages have been dropped all together.

I'm seeing some changed listings but not seeing the page by page numbers changing (they must have taken care of this)

"No more direct links to sites in the listings."
Are you still seeing this? I can't find any like this.....

Saw the update start around 1PM PST, an immediate upswing in traffic with new URL's indexing, but it only lasted for an hour or so. It looks as if AV has once again backed out their update.

Will be checking through the evening, in hopes that they get it re-started. This same thing occured two weeks ago..

Brett, I don't track URL's indexed on keywords that closely, so I'm no help there....

Well, now that I check AV again, my main search terms have all returned to how they were before. What are they thinking/doing over there at AV?

I don't know what they're doing but I wish they'd get it together. We had over 300 pages listed from our main site and now there are only 27. These were not doorways but actual parts of the site. We don't spam, in fact, these pages have been there forever -- until today that is. :(
added: Ack! and the pages they do have are OLD!! They are our old asp pages from over 2 years ago. How strange is this?!

Jilly-

hmmmm.......I don't think this is from the pseudo update yesterday (those changes appeared to have all changed back)

Anybody else noticing anything similar to jilly's experience (today) ?

I'd give it a little time to see if it's temporary before you resubmit.

Looks like it's back to normal now. It was only for a very brief period of time.

Yes, that is very similar to what I saw. I only saw this when it looked like they were updating... Now, everything looks like it was - listings, links, and all.

Jilly, I would wait at least a couple of days before resubmitting to see what happens.

Guess what, Black Monday was an October phenomenon. Could we be seeing a gear up for a repeat performance?
