I was most shocked to hear about Tedster and to me it shows you how little time we have here. This is a great community and I believe that despite the occasional tiff it runs itself in many ways.

So next time I find myself bitching about my rankings on Google I will be reminding myself of Tedster and that it all just doesn't matter that much in the end.

We are just blowing in the wind............

Indeed it was a shock, really nice guy. But you are right - other things are much more important, and as a close friend of mine said "I am getting very aware of the clock ticking and if I want to do something I will have to make it sooner rather than later"

Also the simplier things in life become more enjoyable .. walking in fields, a fish and chip supper, watching the sun go down..

What's yours ?

seoskunk, you're so right.

>walking in fields, a fish and chip supper, watching the sun go down..

I have held that view for some time. Much to the surprise of some, I always stop for the sun set. I've even been known to watch the sun rise, too. hehe

I'm having fun growing my own veg. It's battle against the bugs, disease, pigeons, mice, etc., not to mention the weather. It makes one think of so many things unrelated to seo whilst weeding.

From which end? :)

I used to do that in my wild and crazy days (i.e., still be out when the sun comes up). :)

Nowadays, I am awake when the sun rises, but from waking up before it. And I'm often out for a walk or other exercise at that time.

It's interesting how much life there is when most everyone else is asleep.

We all love the tech industry and that's why we're here, but yes, perspective has to be had.

It's interesting you mention Google (where Tedster's advice was most often sought after)... but back in the day he also gave a lot of advice in the HTML forum here too... I learnt a fair bit from him on that front.

I think people that have followed Tedster's mantra and advice won't get too frustrated with Google, it's a tool to be used like any other.

Best thing that happened to me was to get fired last year.

Now I run a small music magazine just for the love of it, blog about birdwatching, grow some vegetables and walk a lot in the Chiltern Hills.

I don't know when my dodgy heart will give up on me but sure as hell its not going to be in the ****ing office.
