Happy New Year!

I have a pretty good anti-spam system on my business e-mail addresses, however, I use very little anti-spam defences on a private email address i've used for years.

Finally, a spammer has gotten hold of the private email address and is hammering it. Most likely it was a picked up from a compromised system on someone else's machine or system.

I don't want to be bothered with setting tools and systems to protect the private e-mail, so I was thinking about changing my private e-mail address to something else, such as 2013 at example.com

Giving my private contacts the new address is easy enough, however, I have a feeling it will only alert the spammer, depending upon where the compromised system lies.

To help thwart the spammers, here's the plan:
1. Create a redirect with 2013 at example.com
2. Redirect it to a new private mailbox, eg mynewsecretaddress at example.com
3. Inform my private contacts of the redirect email address, 2013 at example.com

As the spammers will eventually get hold of the redirect, I'll just create a new one, redirecting it to mynewsecretaddress at example.com and delete 2013 at example.com

How does that sound as a plan?

Any other suggestions?
