As we don't have a "myspace" section in social media here..I put the "news" in foo:)

According to measurement firm comScore, the MySpace audience is 54 million.

This is down from hundreds of millions at its peak in 2005.

A message on the website announced the redesign: "We're hard at work building the new MySpace, entirely from scratch."

I have a hard time believing Myspace still has 54 million users.

I would guess half the traffic is people googling a bands name and landing on their old Myspace page... then hitting the back button.

After spotting that the page is showing the band's gigs for 2009! I just wish people who have abandoned MySpace for Facebook would remove the out of date information first.

it still often ranks well enough to fill a useful space on page 1.

Considering the brand recall, it can be built into a site for the same generation that used MySpace actively. The generation is a few years older now but still knows of MySpace. Quite like J K Rowling writing fiction for adults to sell to the grown up Harry Potter readers.
