So if duct tape was originally used for taping up ducts, was scotch tape originally used for taping 2 Scottish people together? Maybe that's what leads to the superconductivity connection?

What concerns me is that 3M will now raise the cost of this high-tech product putting it out of reach of the average consumer ;) And, government procurement costs related to defense spending will skyrocket when defense contractors indicate that all onboard avionics will need to be upgraded by use of scotch tape. Of course they will mark it up by 10000% of the actual cost of each roll.

| Government Auditor: I see this $50,000 charge for "Scotch" on your books ... Aerospace Accountant: Um, yes, er, that's for scotch TAPE. GA: And I see that it was purchased just before your annual Christmas party... AA: Um yes, there was a big project that needed to be completed before the end of the year.

Hee. Trivia: the one thing duct tape (which may really, historically, be "duck tape" and not a misspelling) is lousy at is taping up ducts ;) My father once tried an ordinary glue stick on some part of his diffractometer setup and found it worked just as well as the Expensive Hard-To-Obtain Specially Made Technical Adhesive. And then there's the universal solvent...

Based on their finds I tried taping 2 quad cores together and you should see this sucker fly! Maybe packing tape will speed it up even more...
