I've never been so surprised since the first time I heard Gomer Pyle, I mean Jim Nabors, sing.

He was visibly nervous but deserving of the praise.

It's like watching Shrek sing opera like Pavarotti.

WOW. That thud you heard was my jaw hitting the floor.

He was amazing and could sing anywhere in the world. BGT is so much more entertaining than X Factor.

... i just saw a fat girl teaming up with a really, really fat guy so that she would look slim.
he was awesome though!

fat ugly people definitely have an advantage, if they can sing.
im not being rude either -- given a choice between an average looking skinny person who can sing, and an ugly fat guy who at first sight everyone thinks is a loser, it is no contest. because he can get more press interest.
its a bit mad if you think about it. if you want to make it to the big time, it helps to be either truly beautiful or fat and ugly. but if you're mr joe average in the middle, the odds are against it

londrum you are right if he had been mr perfect it wouldn't have made the rounds like it has but since he doesn't have the looks if made it a bigger hit. Either way the dude has a one in a trillion voice.

Everyone loves the underdog. I love the fact he's probably had a hard time about his weight but has got the recognition he deserves, this will be a massive boost for him. Good luck to them.

As a person of more than average girth, I find the propensity in this forum to use the words "Fat and Ugly" slightly offensive. Fat people do not have to be ugly, it is quite possible to be fat and handsome at the same time.
I am very surprised that all of you intelligent people are taken in by this obviously phoney situation. It's SuBo all over again, like her this young man has had mental health problems (according to newspaper reports), and I question the morality of putting someone so obviously vulnerable through this sort of freak show. The reaction of the audience in the clip I saw was obviously choreographed to give the effect that Simon Hightrousers was looking for - Ugly duckling into swan - and in a few years time when this lad is dropped by the media and his record company; who amongst them is going to give a toss about him or his fragile mental condition?

Being a round boy myself, I'm in shape, round is a shape, I think you're being a bit overly sensitive. If you're fat you can always diet but if you're ugly, you ain't getting any prettier no matter how skinny you get!
However, I digress...
Best I can tell, nobody put a gun to his head and told him to sing or get his cranium ventilated, he waddled out there on his own.
Besides, it would appear pretty and skinny Whitney was a wee bit fragile doing all the drugs and she had millions, nobody helped her either. Not to mention Michael Jackson, Curt Cobain, John Belushi, so on and so forth. So why should this nobody schmuck get any special treatment?
You grab your 15 minutes of fame and milk it for all it's worth and the only fat that matters is a fat wallet when you're done unless the guy is stupid too and blows all his money.
Fat, ugly and stupid, that would be quite the trifecta! :)

This young lad has Opera sensation written all over him but he's got to get his health in order if he doesn't want it to be a shortened life. At that size he may even find that he can't be insured and so can't be hired to perform in some places.
That voice needs to be heard, good for him for having the courage to get out there no matter what people think (and boy could you see them thinking).
