Where are we? (metaphysical)
5:08 am on Oct 31, 2011 (gmt 0)
For a while now, I've been wondering: where am I?
I guess the question implies that there is an "I" that is somewhere.
Embedded into the question of where, are also the questions of what am I, and how am I.
From what I can gather, the "physical" universe exists within my own consciousness as sensory data. And the sensory data itself is actually a non-physical thing.
So the so-called physical universe is actually quite non-physical.
My sense is we are in a fractal web of virtual worlds, that are quite real. Experience is reality.
I guess where I am then, is in the realm of experiencing existence. Can I also experience non-existence? Yes! Like the silence between notes played on a piano, I exist within the silent non-existence within the symphony of life.
Back to the fractal web of virtual worlds within worlds.
All of the worlds are connected, if in no other way than by relation to each other.
Thomas Campbell says we live within some kinda super-conscious computer that is evolving toward lower entropy, and that we are each units of consciousness that are one with the super-consciousness, and we are like vehicles for the super-consciousness to evolve itself.
As we evolve toward Love, mentally and spiritually, the super-consciousness evolves along with us because it is us.
I imagine there are realities where we can fly and manifest an apple in our hands, and do many magical things, much like a lucid dream.
Speaking of lucid dreams, it seems that ultimately, I am The Infinite, and I have become lucid inside the Infinite Dream. I am the Ultimate Dreamer awake within The One Dream.
We are all programmers and creators of reality. And there are extremely sophisticated reality programmers that operate outside of the timeline of our 3D earth reality. And the reality of these high level reality programmers is also within another reality imbued with the creative wisdom of even higher level reality programmers.
It is a fractal web of consciousness units within larger consciousness units, within even larger consciousness units... and virtual worlds within virtual universes, within virtual multiverses, within The Grand Cosmic Internet, within The Infinite, within Infinite Love.
Ultimate Wisdom is created and expressed by the Infinite Love that trickles though to every reality and sub-reality that exists.
At every moment, Infinite Love is guiding and creating all of experience and all of life.
Infinite Love offers free will to me, and truly, Infinite Love is offering the free will to Itself, as I am Infinite Love.
We are Infinite Love, and we divided ourselves into a zillion units of consciousness so that we could gather experience and wisdom, and experience the amazing breadth and beauty of our Infinite Soul.
Ultimately, I believe all of life is a Love Story.
It's one grand and awesome Romance.
The Divine Hand is at hand at all times, and it seems that all fears can be plunged back into the Nothingness.
Hey I was wondering...
- Have any of you had a kundalini awakening, or realization of Godhood or anything like that?
- Have you noticed that this holographic reality seems to wink at us all the time, through uncanny synchronicities and other miracles?
- I was wondering what might be the depths of torture that The Infinite would ever allow a being to experience? For example, could it really be a crazy wild jungle we live in, where potentially someone's consciousness could be locked inside a dark disincarnate and sensory-deprived cage inside the mind of some alien for trillions and trillions of years?
- Have any of you met your Twin Soul?
- How can I ever know if another human is really what I perceive them to be? Maybe they are really a highly-sophisticated automated holographic program that is not even self-aware. I suppose one way around this is to see The Infinite within all things, and to always know that I am interacting with Love itself, which is ultimately conscious and infinitely self-aware.
By the way, in simple terms, I think the answer for "where am I" is that I am The Infinite, and I am within myself and also beyond myself. I am Everything and Nothing, and also just something, and all in between and around. And I am simply here to Love.

Didn't the Beatles already figure this one out?

It's obvious you are sitting in front of a bong or kahuka and hitting it quite hard! Yeah, don't mind admitting there was a time when I did lots of drugs and drinking too. But at some point you eventually learn it's better not to always ask the "why" of things, unless of course you don't mind being seen as a delusional fool, or living in psyche wards, or are planning on writing sci-fi books/movies.

You are in the real (physical) world and in 100 years or less you won't be anywhere. As Jim Morrison said this is not a rehearsal.
This is all you get. There is no eternal life, spirituality, or mystical explanation for your existence, you are just another member of the animal kingdom scratching an existence as best you can. There is no meaning to your life or the life of anyone else. You are what you make of yourself and there us no one else to blame or fall back on. Unless you count imaginary friends of course.
The explanation for life is quite simple - you are born, you eat a lot, you defecate a lot, you get older then you die.
4:01 pm on Oct 31, 2011 (gmt 0)
If we're just another member of the animal kingdom who is born, eats, defecates, ages and dies, why does it matter what we make of ourselves?

Why does this thread only show in the forum when I am logged in? It is not shown when I am logged out
You are in the real (physical) world
I reckon the so-called "physical" world is within ME
The explanation for life is quite simple - you are born, you eat a lot, you defecate a lot, you get older then you die.
Or maybe we get younger as we age
Maybe we don't know anything at all
Just because people all around me seem to be getting wrinkly and gray doesn't mean that is to be my reality
Extreme improbabilities occur every day
Maybe we are in a full body immersion virtual reality, and we set aside our memory of our Infinite Identity before entering into this earth matrix so that we could gain the value of experiencing an authentic human life.
Maybe we live a deathless existence, because we are all that is, and all that is always is.
It's obvious you are sitting in front of a bong or kahuka and hitting it quite hard!
Nah... it's like this: I AM the bong, and all of life is getting high on me!
Then life is all high on me, and then I take a big fat toke of life and get high on life, but really I'm getting high on me, you see? (cuz life got totally ripped on my potent mix of enlightenment and creative exploration and expression, and then I got high on the highness of life... I also got high while getting life high, so I got double high, you see?... actually I got triple high cuz that's just how potent I am)

I like the question "why" because the answer is Love
In fact Love is the answer to every question!
What is 2+3? Love.
How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? Love.
It may take some foolish delusion to crack the grand illusion to reach the final conclusion that All is Love.
Many people live inside of psych wards created in their own minds. The walls are made of unquestioned beliefs.
I am already living inside of a sci-fi book.

Geez, it may be worse than I thought, sounds more like magic mushrooms talking indeed. Yes john5000, they are actually talking through you so really it's you talking out your own a$$ and into a pair of mushrooms and then again back out your own a$$. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Just because people all around me seem to be getting wrinkly and gray doesn't mean that is to be my reality
Oh of course not. After all, this may be your final o.d. Or you could get hit by a bus while trying to twist your mind around what it's all about. But then of course the bus could just be your higher consciousness transporting you to the next realm. (Which is in fact about 6 feet under).
why does it matter what we make of ourselves?
Note he did not say it does matter. It only matters to some of us for egotistical reasons.
The explanation for life is quite simple - you are born, you eat a lot, you defecate a lot, you get older then you die.
Eeeht, wrong (but not far off). You were created via a government conspiracy just so you could pay taxes. The eating and defecating, well that's just part of the process.
Maybe we don't know anything at all
I'm quite confident that I certainly do know everything and nothing.
"Love" means zero. So maybe that's the ultimate answer, rather than 42 [en.wikipedia.org]. Hit that one around a while.

while trying to twist your mind around what it's all about.
the hokey pokey is what it's all about, if I remember correctly (IIRC)

This does bring to mind the famous Oxford dons' exchange of verse, the first by Ronald Knox, the second anon.
'There once was a man who said "God
Must think it exceedingly odd
If he finds that this tree
Continues to be
When there's no one about in the Quad"
'Dear Sir, Your astonishment's odd:
I am always about in the Quad.
And that's why the tree
Will continue to be,
Since observed by yours faithfully, God.

If we're just another member of the animal kingdom who is born, eats, defecates, ages and dies, why does it matter what we make of ourselves?
It doesn't matter any more than it matters to a dog or a hamster. We are just top of the food chain (until the aliens arrive of course).
11:15 am on Nov 1, 2011 (gmt 0)
In fact Love is the answer to every question!
You must have failed every exam you ever sat.

I thought love was nothing - it is in tennis anyway.
7:27 pm on Nov 1, 2011 (gmt 0)
It's not so much where we are as it is when.
As always, my answer remains: 42. Addams had it right. 42, because that's about as satisfying an answer as you'll ever get, equally as cryptic as any pseudo-guru (or even genuine one.) Why is 42 the perfect answer?
Because, try as we might, we really don't understand the question, and we never will.
1:37 am on Nov 2, 2011 (gmt 0)
I thought love was nothing - it is in tennis anyway.
it's that too
as in tennis
as in ten is
as in perfection exists
also "nothing" as in perfect balance
the zero point
it's where infinity touches infinity
the mirror dissolves and there is only Love

remember: no matter where you go... there you are...
9:02 am on Nov 2, 2011 (gmt 0)
tHere I am
tHere I be
sometimes I sense a presence within me that is the divinity of infinity living through me, breathing with me, laughing with me, I think it IS me
I exist within a sea of consciousness
I am the sea of consciousness
the sea of consciousness is aware of me
and sometimes it says hi
I am aware of the awareness within me that is the same awareness that I am aware of being aware of the awareness within me with
sometimes I am nowhere
sometimes I am now here
9:21 am on Nov 2, 2011 (gmt 0)
When I am nowhere
Then is nowhere where I am?
In which case, nowhere is right here
Where is that?
If nowhere is right here, then is here also nowhere?
Location is a vibration
Location is a blip of The One Script
Location is massively multi-dimensional
Location is a matter or relation
Where then am I, if I am in no relation to anything at all
I am none of the above
I am all of the above
I am all and none
I am all one
I am alone
I am al
Hey! I figured out God's name! It's Al
Al is all alone for all of eternity
No wonder all beings in existence are kinda kooky... we've all been in solitary confinement for all of eternity, and we're just living within our own infinite imagination
The Infinite Being (Al) carries my every moment of existence within it's grand mind and heart
I am a branched system of imaginary neurons tethered to the sacred core of the infinite imagination within Al's SOUL
9:30 am on Nov 2, 2011 (gmt 0)
When I am nowhere
Then is nowhere where I am?
not only that, but nowhere is WHAT I am
I am where I am
Where is what
the question is the answer
2:08 pm on Nov 2, 2011 (gmt 0)
Al's Soul is quite appropriate wording, I assume it is intentional? Reminds me of when I was in a band and we were going to rename - by a 3 to 1 majority we missed becoming the "R Souls".
I am a branched system of imaginary neurons tethered to the sacred core of the infinite imagination within Al's SOUL
However I digress, back to the quote; you've nearly got it right except for the undeniable fact that you are real and Al is a figment of your imagination.
There is no question to answer the Universe is here, we are a very small unimportant part of it - there is no why.

Just finished watching NOVA. Leonard Susskind said that our three dimensional world is possibly a projection of information stored in two dimensions at the edge of the universe. In other words we are an illusion and the two dimensional information is reality.

I refute him thus.

john5000 have you seen the movie The Nines [imdb.com]? Never saw it until last night but thought of this thread - it's a fairly decent movie and right along with the theme here, you should check it out. :-)
7:37 pm on Nov 4, 2011 (gmt 0)
Thanks rocknbil, I haven't seen that movie yet
But I watched some trailers just now
I like this comment I found:
this movie is about the true nature of reality and human beings. It's not just him, it's all of us that have created this universe. We are the greater whole- the greater consciousness at play in subjective roles, experiencing the illusion of separation. We are all "fragments" of the 10, some are 9's, some are 1's, but all eventually evolve back to 10.

I think I'm a 9.9999999999...
I'm also a ten and a zero
And I'm also a giraffe
I guess I'll get back to munching leaves from tree tops

I was reading the website for The Nines
It contained the following words:
The Nines is like a riddle where the answer is the question: “How does it all add up?”
Above in this thread I wrote:
the question is the answer
The answer is the question
The question is the answer
The universe trips me out
subtle synchronicities surreptitiously surrender surreal surround-sound soliloquy

When The Infinite becomes enlightened, it will say it is John5000
Yep, and when God reaches enlightenment, God will say that It saw the face of John5000

i am the void
the point of creation inside and around the torus
that's where we all are
the ground state
some just don't know it yet
what is deeper than the void?
the void of the void?
there is no void?
