Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Snow everywhere! any of you in the list of people who had to sleep on the airport floors due to Snow cancelling everything?
Think Europe won't be shopping all that much.

No traveling, no snow, just staying home enjoying whatever family decides to come see me. :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to those who celebrate them.

Still working and will be all over the holidays albeit probably at a much reduced rate of effort! Projected travel mileage for the next couple of weeks is as near to zero as possible:-)

Have you ever noticed maximum confusion always occurs at the busiest times even when there is no industrial action?

No plans this year other than a small family get togther. Travel itinerary consists of a short 6 mile hop on I-470 across town, one exit and two left turns and I'm there. My two brothers are coming in from out of state with their wives which will be nice. Everyones kids are grown now and not having children around takes a lot of the excitement and manic hysteria out of the holiday, or at least it does for me. Not the spirit of it, mind you, but certainly some of the enthusiasm. Christmas with a bunch of old fogeys just doesn't have the same flavor as it does when the house is full of kids.

Doesn't have the same price tag either, so I guess that's some consolation.

Oh absolutely. Isn't that a law of physics or something?

Try taking a card reader back to Best Buy the day after Christmas because it's the wrong one and watch this fundamental truth in action.

My people will ask you: "You cooking or driving?"

We're driving this year, taking some food to the feast. Many families have a long tradition of fine foods. My family is not one of those. But, we have fun. Round trip will be over 1,000 miles.

Really haven't got the holiday spirit. Over the last few years I've lost some family and friends. During this time of year it is tough not to think about how much I am missing them.

Murphy's, and it's corollary - "at the worst possible moment."

Wife and I are being tremendously, most decadently selfish this year. Kids are grown and moved away, all of our family is either "busy" or too far away, neither of us like to cook, we're going to just kick it and maybe stay in house clothes all weekend. The stress of the holidays is not on our menu. :-)

Whilst it seems most of the northern hemisphere is under a foot (or more) of snow Cape Town is enjoying a good summer - its been up in the 30C's for the last week in my garden (I work from home) and no sign of rain for the last month.

Family christmas this year and I'll be driving, well walking actually as its only a few minutes walk to my wifes sisters house :)

Hi all,

I just saw this thread; Absolutely! Everyone at/with/connected to WebmasterWorld, have a great festive season and have a nice prosperous new year. I just hope that the snow here in the UK has gone by the time we are due back to work! 2 weeks now where the daytime temp hasn't made it above freezing!

Seasons greetings,

Cheers,

No snow in Hanoi this year. Nice and windy, though, and this is the first time I've worn a jacket in over five years. (I recently moved from Chiang Mai, Thailand.)

Christmas Eve, in the evening, in the apartment building where we live, I rode down in an elevator with Santa Claus. Tall, thin, white beard and mustache, freshly pressed red suit looking very crisp. Iím definitely older and fatter. He waved at me and said "hello" in English.

Ten minutes later, time to ride back up the elevator. When it opened, a large gorgeous Husky with a lovely new blue leash dragged the human out, out, out. I donít know which startled the thickly muscled Vietnamese man more, the sight of this foreigner in short sleeves and wild hair, or the way that dog yanked him outta there.

It occurred to me later in the evening that Santa Claus is very cool. Not the one in the elevator, although he's cool too. But the other Santa, the one with the sleigh and the goodies. Earlier in the day, I got lost bicycling to the bookstore. Santa never gets lost. But I didnít put that on Twitter because itís kinda predictable. Arenít you glad you read Foo?

Hunkered down in a small town in North Ontario with the in-laws. It's a wonderful part of the world where not one cel-provider has coverage. No 3G. No SMS. No pages from the servers or clients in a panic. Left my assistant with clear instructions to fix anything he could that breaks, and if he can't sort it out, it can wait until New Years when I return to civilization.

It's the time of year when family is far more important than commerce.

Best wishes to all.

Techcrunch said it well the other day. Christmas is still happily an analog holiday. :-)

No work for me. Though my servers and cron jobs are working overtime. They blocked a number of Christmas Day Scrapers. ;-)

Thank god for Al Gore and Global Warming. It's snowing here on Christmas Day. Coldest winter and most snow fall in 100 years.

Not a merry xmas when your adsense earnings drop, I hate holidays!

This depends on the type of content you are publishing. My earnings always go up this time of the year.

I'm not a big fan of winter holidays. I am however excited when this period is over, especially that a new year starts - this always makes me feel very optimistic.

Merry Christmas to you as well, and all the best for 2011.

My son and I got bows for Christams. One I figure out which way to point the sharp end, we're going to do some hunting. Looks like some fun and a bit of a hobby, but more importantly we're using it as a focal point for him as he goes through his teenage years.

My daughter got an Iphone. Now I'm jealous :).
