File>Open..

When I go to open files they are arranged in a random order..I can't work out which. I don't know why this has happend - it didn't used to be like this.
When I right click and arrange them by Name they rearrange. But when I close the open menu and go to reopen something the arrangement is back to the same.

The same file arrangment is the same all over the computer.

How can i set my files to arrange by name by default?

After you've rearranged your icons however you want them, go to: Tools/Folder Options/View/Apply to All Folders

Go to Folder options, go to the View tab, the go down and check "Remember each folder's view settings"

Yes, if you want every folder to behave exactly the same, wyweb's procedure is correct.
