I actually spent a year in the rural Kalihari desert in 1994. I only had three tapes and I had a tape player in the truck. If I was lucky I could catch Law and Order in English at night so that was my other link to the western world. Here was my list:

I must have listened to those tapes hundreds of times. The rest of my music was on CDs but unfortunately no CD player! You learn to take what you can get.

Faye Wong is so cool.

Wow, another fan, cool. I got to see her 4 times in 2003 at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Awesome. I used to own 2,000 Western CD/Records. As soon as I heard her, I sold the lot and haven`t listened to western music since. That was 1999.
