Christmas songs
What songs get you in the holiday spirit.

I was wrapping Christmas presents listening to music and one of my favorite Christmas songs came on, David Bowie and Bing Crosby singing Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy.

Whenever I hear that song it puts me in a trans, sort of like what happened on Seinfeld when Elaine's boyfriend heard Desperado.

What song and by what artist puts you in the holiday spirit?

Your mind is full of gunk, Mr. GrriiNCH -

The Pogues, Fairytale of New York - a great song, if not exactly cheery thoughout, but then life isn't unadulterated cheer, even at Christmas.

I actually like some modern original christmas music, the kind of stuff I didn't think existed when I was young.

like.... Hawksley Workman, an enigmatic Canadian performer extraordinaire... he put out a nice christmas album [en.wikipedia.org] back in 2001

and Sufjan Stevens - he puts out a christmas album every year, but didn't actually release them until this year, all together [en.wikipedia.org]. He's also one of the best new talents to come out of anywhere in ... forever.
