How do I properly create one of those homepage slideshows?
Like you see on the websites of the major retailers.

Hello All.

You know the slide shows / transition /slider that you see on the homepages of the major big box retailers that show 3 or 4 slides of their big promotions. They often have a button or something where you can flip though the different slides if you missed one.

Does anyone know where I can find a tutorial on how to properly make such a thing.

Any direction you can give would be appreciated.

Most are actually done without flash. Look into the javascript frameworks as well, such as jQuery, Mootools, Dojo & Scriptaculous.

Do a search for rotating image gallery script or something similar and you will find many examples of scripts that can be set up to do this.
