I am designing a site that will use Flash to scale full browser. I want certain elements within the site to scale, and some to not scale. For example, I want to use photographs in certain places as the background. I want them to always scale but to never lose their ratio. So, in some situations, the side or bottom of an image might be cropped. That is ok to me.

BUT, I want nav in a black bar at the top of the page to always be justified left, but never scale up or down. but the black bar behind the nav should always stretch across the page.

Other content within the site might scale up or down, or not scale at all.

Anyone have any suggestions? I am a designer, so you may have to speak slowly. :)

Not sure you are going to be able to do this unless you implement some AS script that does these scalings for you. Even then, though, you aren't going to know the size of the embeded HTML object. I think you're just better off keeping things how you originally have them and keeping them static.

Anyway, if you have found a solution to this, please share.

oh, and Welcome to WebmasterWorld! :)
