Flash 8 Functions?

I am new to flash and just installed flash 8. The problem is when typing actionscript, there are no functions that appear to help you (like in visual basic 6). For example, if I add a combo box called "blah", I know I can do blah.addItem because I read it in a tutorial, but I have no idea what other functions I can do with blah?

Is there a setting that shows a drop down of functions for each component or something? I know it is in visual basic 6 so its possible there is in flash 8?

Hello, FiRe,

It will be much easier for you, if use get some basic tutorial as a starter.
It would definitely lead you step by step into the fundamentals.

Have a nice day!

Flash 8 has an awesome drop-down menu. But it only happens when you name your movieclips, etc. properly. If you have a movieclip, giving it an instance name of
name_mc, it provides a menu with the available functions.

Same for text fields and buttons, except the suffixes are _txt and _btn respectively.

Hope this helps :)
