Report: Dell Appears to Charge $27 To Install Firefox On Its PCs engine msg:4651743 1:01 pm on Mar 6, 2014 (gmt 0) I find this report very strange, and whether it has any merit will come to light in due course, i'm sure.

Doesn't surprise me. I work in an IT and telecoms company. If a customer came to us and said "please install XYZ for me", we'd charge for the time of the technician involved who actually has to do the job for the customer --- even if the XYZ was free software. Nothing unusual in this. lucy24 msg:4651853 10:31 pm on Mar 6, 2014 (gmt 0)
£16.25 to install a browser? Takes, what, three minutes? I'm in the wrong line of work. roshaoar msg:4651873 11:46 pm on Mar 6, 2014 (gmt 0)
Typically companies charge "per hour or part thereof". I agree, probably took 2 minutes, but this is how it works...
