Maybe. I just see us as grunts trying to make a living... or provide a bit of fun for others as warped as we are. And there's all too many out there who think they are webmasters... but they aren't here. Most of them, anyway! If the query is what is the number of posts that gets one elevated at Webmasterworld, that's a secret (easily learned). Give that away and all the low life drive-by posters seeking to insert spam will know how many messages they have to create before they can do their evil plan...
All the above is humor.
Came up through the ranks myself and, suddenly, duh!, after (x) found out there were other bells and whistles... which, smart on forum side, give trust based on longevity and that makes sense.
And some of those are not obvious. I was a "Senior" for a bit before one of the other "elders" suggested I could use "report" to deal with problematic posts. Truthfully, I kind of like this growth into "being there" because it means actual GROWTH as a member is obtained. By hard work and diligence, and not doing a duck and run to the next web 2.zero site.
Put it into perspective: there seem to be few webmasters these days. There are many web wh*res doing the horizontal to make bucks and complaining... except for those who actually publish sites with value. Any one who joins this site to read, or post, is a webmaster. Else wouldn't be here in the first place.
