Needs simplification and beautification

The current WebmasterWorld layout appears stunningly complicated and astonishingly unattractive. Stripes, boxes, incongruous buttons, padded and nested tables, etc., all lead to a sense of clutter and disorder.
Not to mention unnecessary messages ("New Discussion," "Please start your new discussion below..." and "Editor" being three examples just on this "New Discussion" page.)
There has got to be a way to streamline the interface to make it more simple, yet more attractive at the same time. I'm not saying add graphics and background images and all that, but something simple, light, tasteful, and attractive in a laid-back, eye-easing way.
(That, and the ability to add custom stylesheets to adjust at least colors and fonts, if not the layout itself.)
Speaking of custom stylesheets, I'd like to propose the following CSS classes and ID's, in addition to whatever else would be included for basic layout and formatting:
