Ask Moderators to Be Less Bitc*y

Although I have been working in various ways with the Internet since 1994, I still hesitate to post questions here because I have gotten some very know-it-all kind of rude replies. You asked for my opinion...

When mods are participating in a discussion, they should not also moderate that discussion.

If they think a discussion they are part of needs moderating they should ask an admin, or at least another moderator to take a look at the discussion and let the admin or "other-mod" make the decision about moderating the discussion.

[It's too easy to make your point prevail when you can delete the other position from the discussion.]

Why not make it so it takes 2 mods to delete or change something so that a single view doesnt make it right or wrong.

Might make things long winded but it shouldnt be hard to implement.

Oftn works that way Angelis. Not with the obvious no-brainer stuff. But with the close stuff it's not uncommon for mods to get input from other mods/admins before making a decision.

I am going to ask mods to back out of this discussion and let the members talk. There will be time for you to respond later...

It's not that I care but it's an opportunity to get bitchy with a mod. ;) ;) ;)
