Allow members to promote their own real forum where people arent moderated and are allowed to speak freely.
This way people can leave here and talk openly promoting their own sites, airing their true views on google and other matters, ganging up on stupid members so the stupid ones leave of their own accord etc.
I've had run-ins before with the "big guns" on here. Never once have I been told to shut up, know my place or anything like that. If you stick to facts and opinions and never get abusive and start attacking the man, you'll do fine on here.
I'll be interested in watching this thread evolve, as I think it will be a demonstration of how allowing anarchy is a terrible idea. All it does it let people with anger issues spew venom. In the olden days of USENET, a group that was useful for years could be completely overrun by trolls in a matter of weeks.
The mods are the heart of what makes WebmasterWorld modestly civil.
I watched a pretty good site kill (photosig) kill itself from the inside by letting too many hotheads rant on, and sometimes the hotheads were the mods themselves.
A system where people get recognition for being prompt, courteous, respectful and helpful is the opposite of anarchy.
